 Bhimnidhi Tiwari was born in 1911 to Lalnidhi Tiwari and Nanda Kumari Tiwari. Lalnidhi was very happy to have a son and celebrated with a grand drama called Indrasavha. Bhimnidhi grew up in a traditional home, but his mother passed away when he was seven. His poem "Dagbatti" tells about the night his mother was cremated, and he felt the fire consume her.

When Bhimnidhi's father died, he was 27 and had to take care of his family. He worked for the government for 32 years, first in the Ministry of Education and later as an assistant secretary. In 1938, he started Nepal Sahitya Press, and in 1949, he founded Nepal Natak Sangh to improve Nepalese drama and literature.
