BHimnidhi tiwarika kehi kabitaharu

Bhimnidhi Tiwari was born on November 1911 to Lalnidhi Tiwari and Nanda Kumari Tiwari. Birth of the son pleased Lalnidhi so much that he organized a great drama, Indrasavha. Bhimnidhi grew up in a very traditional home, but when he turned seven, his mother died. One of his poems, "Dagbatti," depicts for the reader the night his mother was burned and how the fire devoured her.

When Bhimnidhi's father died, he was 27 and had to take care of his family. He began governmental service, continuing it for 32 years from the Ministry of Education, later as an assistant secretary. In 1938, he established Nepal Sahitya Press, and in 1949, Nepal Natak Sangh was established to uplift Nepalese drama and literature.

Bhimnidhi represented Nepal in the seminar about copyright and accompanied King Mahendra in his royal visit. He visited Russia, London, Rome, and Delhi. His father inspired him to write, and he worked hard to enrich Nepalese drama.

Bhimnidhi wrote much work such as Sahanshila Sushila, Adarsha Jiwan, and Indradhanus. He also wrote short stories, novels, poems, and many others. He believed in social reform and wrote against smoking, drinking, and gambling. He received awards such as "Yasashvisav" and the Madan Puraskar in 1970. He died in 1956 and left behind him a legacy in Nepalese literature.

Tragedy once again befalls him; he lost his father at the age of 27. However, he pursued and continued his education until the intermediate level in liberal arts. This marked the beginning of an enviable journey that would later bring great contributions to Nepalese literature.

    Education and Literary Achievements

Bhim Nidhi Tiwari showed his commitment to education and literature right from the start of his professional journey. Although he was not in a position to regularly attend school following his mother's death, he had been able to excel in academics. Bhim Nidhi Tiwari's service to literature was a continuous affair. He was a section officer within the Ministry of Education, assistant secretary, and had finished 32 years of service in government. In 1938, he established Nepal Sahitya Press, and later in 1949, he founded Nepal Natak Sangh. Establishment of Nepal Natak Sangh aimed at enhancing the status of Nepali literature and drama. Tiwari has contributed to Nepalese drama quite actively. His major dramas are 'Shahanshila Sushila,' 'Shilanyas,' 'Tarpan,' 'Titaura,' 'Masyaura,' 'Pandhra Prabhand' and 'Insaf'.

Social Reformer and Values in Literature

The literary works of Bhim Nidhi Tiwari were not only for mere entertainment but very highly stipulated with his strong belief in social reform. He openly emphasized, through his writings, his opposition to smoking, drinking, and gambling, as a way of truly caring about the welfare of the society he lived in. Tiwari was able to create literature that inspired change and would continue to influence the mindsets of his readers for a long time to come.

    Recognition and Legacy

Therefore, his works on Nepalese literature took cognizance of his works and their applications in the related area of discourse. Later in 1970, one of the most prestigious prizes in letters in Nepal was given to Bhim Nidhi Tiwari, which was known as Madan Puraskar. Besides this, Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, Ratna Shree medal, Prakhyan Trishakti Patta, Rajyabisekh Padak, and Gyanpad Sewa were presented by Late Majesty King Tribhuvan.
