
Gopal Paṇḍe, affectionately known by dint of his pen label “Asīm,”
was born upon 15 Jestha 1970 BS (can 30, 1913 CE) in Pyāphal, Kathmandu.
He was the boy of Līlārāj Paṇḍe and Ṭulkārām Paṇḍe, who
originally hailed from Dang. Though atom of a notable Pande household lineage, his
soon years were noticeable by dint of financial hardship, a common theme of fight

In 1980 BS (1923 CE), Gopal connected Darbar High
institute in Kathmandu. He completed his matriculation in Patna in 1989 BS
(1932–33 CE). Seeking further schooling, he enrolled at Tri-Chandra
College in 1990 BS (1933–34 CE), and tragically, his research were disrupted
when a destructive tremor struck Nepal in 1990 BS (1934 CE) .
The Teacher Blossoms
Undeterred, Gopal began his instruction charge in Asār, 1992
BS (middle‑1935 CE) at Srēṣṭhā Pathshālā. He later came back to Darbar High
institute as a educator. Over a notable 41 years of maintenance, he became
known for his simplicity, heat, and unwavering commitment .
It was during his tenure that he understood the ability of
schooling in single’s indigenous barbarism. Driven by dint of that belief, nearby 2002 BS
(1945 CE) he began advocating for Nepali-medium entry exams. By 2008
BS (1951 CE), the Ministry of Education officially accepted that method. On
15 Bhadra 2009 BS (month 1, 1952 CE), he established Nepali Uccha
Shikshālaya nearby to Darbar High institute and became its headmaster .
The Nepali Education Council: A Visionary Leap
Gopal’s fantasy went beyond classrooms. He envisioned an
organization committed to uplifting Nepali barbarism and writings. With
backing from more than **101 scholars—comprising giants like Rudra Raj Paṇḍe,
Lakshmīprasād Devkota, and Leekhnāth Paudyal—**he established the Nepali
Education Council.
The Council gained official acknowledgment upon 3 Sāun 2008 BS
(July 18, 1951 CE) . From producing curricula, conducting admissions, to
organizing national scholarly celebrations like Bhanu Jayanti and Mati
Ram Bhatt Jayanti, it became a pillar in reviving Nepali in schooling .

erecting statues of Nepali luminaries in Kathmandu and overseas—even reaching
places like Lhasa for Devkota’s memorial .

with the Gopal Paṇḍe Award, honoring contributions to Nepali barbarism
and writings. remarkably, Prof. Dr. Shailendu Prakaash Nepal received
that prize in 2080 BS (2024–25 CE) .
